An 18-year-old Lorne man was arrested on Sunday February 21 for driving with a positive blood alcohol level while on a provisional license. At 10am police stopped the male who was driving on Vine Street North Haven for the purpose of a random breath test. After the man returned a positive reading he was taken to Laurieton Police Station where he was charged with special range drink driving. Provisional license holders must have a zero blood alcohol level when driving. The man will appear in court at a later date.
Unknown persons attempted to break into a home in Rodley Street Bonny Hills between 10am Sunday February 21 and 9pm Friday February 26. Police report a window appeared to have been forced but no entry was gained.
A white Toyota ute was stolen from a mechanical business in Bayside Circuit Laurieton between 5.30pm Friday February 26 and 7pm Sunday February 28. Police inquiries are continuing into the theft of the 2003 model table-top utility.
A shed was broken into at the Camden Haven Showground in Kendall between 8am and 12.50am Thursday March 4. A number of spray cans and other items were stolen. Police said neighbours saw four males behaving in a suspicious manner and reported to police. Police located four males, after a short chase, in the cemetery. The males were searched and police obtained their details. Inquiries are continuing.
Police patrolling in Kendall at 1am Sunday February 28 saw a white Toyota ute travelling slowly near the intersection of Graham and Orara Streets. As police approached the vehicle the male driver allegedly exited the vehicle on foot and ran toward the railway station. Police gave chase but the man was lost in the grounds of the railway station. Police investigations revealed the ute had been stolen from Railway Street in Kendall. The vehicle was towed away for forensic investigations and police inquiries are continuing.
