Facelift for Queens Lake reserve

03 Mar, 2010 09:13 AM
PORT Macquarie-Hastings Council will soon commence work on the upgrade of Queens Lake Sailing Club Reserve at Lakewood.

The works include upgrading the existing boat launching facility and associated car/boat trailer parking areas.

Council’s Director of Infrastructure, Jeffery Sharp said, “We are spending $120,000 on the improvement works. Half the funding has been made available following a grant from Maritime NSW.

“Work to the boat ramp is scheduled for early next month and is expected to take one and a half weeks, while upgrading of the car parking area is programmed to commence mid May and expected to take three weeks.

“While work is carried out during these operations, Council is encouraging people to use other nearby facilities,” Mr Sharp said.
