THE St Joseph’s Primary School Fete will be will be up and running this Saturday with a variety of activities to entertain all ages.
The event is set to kick off at 9.30am and will run until mid afternoon.
Fete fundraising coordinator Dominique Augey, said the fete had been running for over 20 years and would help raise much needed funds for the school.
“It used to be on Friday nights, but three years ago it was moved to Saturday mornings,” she said.
“This year we will have a cooking competition. It is open to anyone but they will have to call the school to get the details by Friday, October 24,” she said.
The cooking competition will include two categories for open/adults and primary school ages with a choice to cook either slices or biscuits.
Mrs Augey said the event would cater for all ages with stalls, rides and other activities.
“The haunted house is very popular. The kids are already excited. We thought we’d keep the kids entertained by having a bigger ride. This year we will have the teacup ride,” she said.
“There will be a rotary barbeque as well as Lions Club food stalls. St Joseph’s Preschool will also be running a cake stall and a lucky dip on the day.”
“There will be a café with devonshire teas and stalls with plants donated from the Bonny Hills Garden Centre,” she continued.
“We will be raffling off a Playstation 2 which was generously donated by Sony and water skirmish for kids will run again this year.”
Craft baskets and gift baskets will also be available for purchase along with a chocolate wheel with lots of gifts and great prizes donated from the community.
