POLICE from the Mid North Coast Target Action Team pulled over a Ford Focus adjacent to the Pacific Highway near Herons Creek at around 4pm December 8. The 29 old male driver was spoken to and subsequently searched. He allegedly admitted to Police to have approximately 3 grams of cannabis on his person. This was seized and he was arrested and a further search revealed a quantity of amphetamines and an amount of cash. He was conveyed to the Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with 2 counts of possess prohibited drug, supplying an indictable quantity prohibited drug and dealing with property to be from the proceeds of crime.
Police are advising all licensees and managers of clubs on the Mid North Coast to be aware of safety issues when closing of their establishments with regard to armed robberies. Police warn that the counting of monies at the end of the evening or staying around for “staffies” after work may make them vulnerable targets for offenders especially in premises that are isolated from general pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
