SOCIAL BOWLS
On Wednesday we played some triples games in much cooler weather than we had on Tuesday. It was good to hear the laugher on the greens. It seemed as if we all enjoyed it. The spider was won by Ethel McLellan and the raffle by Carole Considine who was there on her first day back. Well done both of you. We also welcomed a visitor Marjorie Brown.

LUSC LAWN BOWLS
Last Thursday afternoon at Lake Cathie 92 bowlers fronted a game. We had two visitors Duncan McCartney from Eastlakes and Eddie Frazer from Hexham, we hoped you both enjoyed our company and come again anytime.
Our members unable to bowl due to ill health are Ken McDonald, John Clark, Jack Clarke, John Slager, Chunky Huntley, Gary Hillman, William Lovell and John Bennett. We wish you all a speedy recovery and hope to see you back on the greens in the near future. The club voucher rink winners were Ron Ferguson, Warren Newby, Ken Posker, the Pirate, John Mitchell, Duncan McCartney (its good to see a visitor come out a winner), and Brian Patterson. The rink runners-up club voucher winners were Adolph Wagner, Tubby Archer, Kevin Bogg, Stan Prentice, Roger Miles, Roy Woolgar (again, he’s had more wins than pharlap), and Mark Ryan. The cash winners drawn from the weekly nomination list were Freddy Paine, winning $20 with both (Smokin) Joe Bishop and Bob McCallum winning $10.00 each.
The lucky winners of the Colonial Bakery delicious Family Pie Vouchers were Allan Russell and (Schultzie) Brian Johnston. The three $25 men’s Xmas club raffle winners were Roy (yes again) Woolgar, Hec McDonell and the Pirate. I got the drum, on the grapevine, that Peter Raschke won first place with his famous ginger beer at the local show. He’s so proud that he will be putting on a free taste testing for any of our members later in the year when his new brew is ready.

Another good roll up Sunday morning for our monthly pointscore round. Single Stableford was the game of the day and Cherry just got the voucher in front of ever consistant Pup. Kieran’s been on fire lately and the only thing I can see slowing him up is the handicapper. Robbo and Cherry shared the balls in A grade while Ray took out the Eagles Nest on the 10th (I think we’ve made it too easy now). Ladies hole to myself and 2nd shot to James. Poor old Bottlo Neil, I think he’ll be our highest handicapper easily taking out the NAGA. Pick up times for Tallwoods are Bonny Hills 9am, North Haven 9.10, Laurieton 9.20 and through to Kew 9.30. Mick Manyjobs.
