The Hastings Valley Motorcycle club is holding its Pony Express this Sunday November 22. The club hasn’t had much luck this year with their Pony Express series, as the last two proposed dates were washed out by torrential rain, so hopefully the weather will be kinder to the club this weekend.
The Pony Express is a popular event, that tests the endurance of man and machine and attracts a large field of riders from across the state. Riders team up in teams of two and take turns of doing consecutive laps of the 8km circuit through the bush at the Hastings Valley Motorcycle raceway, Cowarra. The team with the most completed laps at the end of 3 hours is the winner.
There will be racing all day with the juniors racing in the morning and the main event for seniors in the afternoon. Visiting senior riders are most welcome, with day licences available.
Junior sign on is from 6.30am-7.15 am and senior sign on from 9.30am-11am, entry for spectators is free and there are plenty of vantage spots to get up close to the racing.
Club members are also reminded that there will be a working bee on Saturday 21 from 8.30am to do the finishing touches to the track.
