With the weather back to some sort of normality it was good to see a larger field for Thursday’s golf. The winner in A grade was Howard Burrows with 35 points from Wayne Moir 33 c/b. In B Grade Cliff Kerr continued his good recent form to win with 38. John Mannix had 35 to run second and Barrie Scott was third with 34. Allan Philp had an excellent round of 41 points to easily win C Grade from Gary Duckitt with 36. Graeme Grubb was 3rd with 35. NTPs on the 9th were Wayne Moir, Bob Perry and John Cobban. Steve James, Ross Bate and Greg Watson were closest on 10 and Rodger Millard, Peter Ball and Bryce Shean were the best on the 12th.
Balls went down to 32 and Chooks to 19 c/b.
A good field of 87 players hit off on Saturday for an Individual Stableford sponsored by Tooheys. The winner in A grade was Terry McEntyre with 37 points from Barry Beauchamp 36 and Steve Ecclestone 35. The B Grade winner was that man again Cliff Kerr with 37 points from Wayne Bennell 36 and Trevor Mason 36. Wayne Campbell had 36 to win C Grade from Ben Drinkwater 36 points and Allan Ward 34.
NTPs were Peter Casey, Jack Smith and Allan Ward on the Riverview Service Centre sponsored 9th hole, Shaun Ryan Nev McCarthy and Allan Ward on The Searson and Shannon10th and Bob Spring, Trevor Mason and Jim Middleton on 12. Rob Collins was closest with his second shot on 18 to win the Tony Gunning Homes pin.
Balls went down to 32 and Chooks to 19 c/b.
Ladies
The Ladies finally got some decent weather for golf and they played an Individual Stableford. The Division 1 winner was Jenny Hardy with 39 points from Sue Byron 34. In Division 2 Lesley Williams won with 27 points from Bev Noble 25. The nearest to the pins on the 3rd were Betty Andrews, Kaye Crossfield and Bev Noble. In the nine hole comp. Jennifer Forbes won from Lola Valentine, Carol Fenner and Beryl Love.
The Saturday Ladies Comp was won by Margaret Miller with 33 points from Irene Mason 32. Balls went to Jean Ramsey, Irene Williams, Bev Noble and Marie Conallin.
Lady Vets
The Lady Vets had 35 players tee up for a stroke and putting round last Friday in lovely weather. The winner in Division 1 was Jenny Hardy with 36 ½ from Laurie Neal 37 ½. Laurie and Kaye Sturgeon shared the putting honours with 14. In Division 2 Jenny Stapleton won with 36 from Pam Egan 37, Marie Hails 39 ½ and Barbara Pole 40 ½ c/b. Marie Hails was the best putter with 12. Wendy Barbato had 39 ½ to win Division 3 from Margaret Miller 43, Vel Ryan 44 ½, S. Samuels- White 44 ½ and Mary Brown 45 ½. Wendy Barbato had 16 putts to win that event. Jenny Hardy also won the 18 hole event with76 on a countback to Betty Nurse. Pam Egan and Sandra Turner each had 78. The Raffle winner was Wendy Crozier.
Sunday Golf
Gary and Ros Blewitt have thrown themselves into getting the popularity and fun back into Sunday Mixed Golf. What a good team they are.
Results for last Sunday in the Mens Stableford were Phil Hardy 1st with 38 points on a countback to Greg Marshall.
NTP on the 9th was Luke McInally.
In the Ladies the winner was Betty Nurse with 37 from Di Christensen 33. Patricia Ward got the NTP on the 12th.

Juniors
We had eight starters this week, with two new members – Jim Dwyer and Josh Gyler. Welcome aboard.
The winners this week were Big kids tied between Damien Hudson & Lachlan Hunt. Little kids winner was Rhyan Hudson. Long Drive went to Mitchell Hunt.
Nearest the pin A. Went to Fletcher Murray and Nearest the pin B. Went to Josh Merrill. Overall Best and Fairest for the day went to Luke Merrill.
Next Sunday 8.30AM for a 9AM start. Jason and Mick
Men Veterans
On Monday 13th February 2012, 78 players took to the field for a singles Stableford competition completing the day’s activities before the afternoon thunderstorm and lightning took over with a heavy shower of rain. Bob Ferguson took out the major prize in A Grade on 31 points on a countback from Rob Allen. Merv Richards secured third place also on a countback. Alan Ward again showed his prowess taking out B grade again on 28 points followed by Peter Nurse on 26. Chunky Huntley flashed through the field to take out C Grade on 32 being followed closely by Roy Perry on 31. Ian James and Barry Tracy took out the other two major placings with 28 and 27 respectively. Ball winners went from Geoff Britton on 30 points through Rob Spring, Len Livingstone, Laurie Hamilton, Neil Mathieson to Peter Ball on 27. Rick Bower was the major winner in B Grade for a ball on 25, followed by Frank Underhill, Trevor Rose and Geoff Watson on 24 points. C Grade ball winners were Bob Willis on 25, Merv McLean, John Neal, Budgy Parrot, Dave Raeburn, Bill Doyle and Carl Young on 24. NTP on 7th Hole was R Spring A grade, Notasole B Grade and B Johnston C grade. NTP 10th hole K Brennan A Grade, R Willis B Grade and Bill Kerr in C Grade. This was Bill’s first day back after his op. Only 22 players all up on Thursday 9th Inst, due to wet climate. Gary Blewitt took out the only fowl with Rob Spring, Bob Goodison and Bryce Shean winning the balls. Les Thompson is undergoing serious therapy at this time and welcomes visitors.
