THE countdown for the new 2010 soccer season has begun. Registration days for the Camden Haven Redbacks have been set down set down for February 6 and 13, at the venue of the club’s major sponsor, the Laurieton United Services Club and times for registration will be advertised in the Courier in the coming weeks.
All new players should bring along their birth certificate as proof of their age and it would be great to have many new players to allow all age groups to have a full squad out on the paddock this season.
The Redbacks hope to see this season’s fees the same as 2009 and for all junior players this year this will include a training shirt. As many of you will have noticed the club is in dire need of new goal nets and match day equipment. We can only achieve replacement of this equipment through the payment of registration fees. Unfortunately, unpaid fees can no longer be absorbed by the club and as a new committee we have made it our main objective to tackle this growing problem. We would basically like to adopt a pay before you play policy and would appreciate full payment over the registration period. Of course genuine cases will be catered for .
For matters on the pitch, the small sided game system will be in place again from U6’s and now up to and including U10’s. The U10’s will basically play 9 a-side on half of a full sized pitch. Under 11’s and up will continue on full field in a competitive format.
All senior grades require players and it would be great to run a senior ladies team this year. Once again, we hope to keep senior fees the same as 2009 and the pay before you play policy will be enforced.
Anyone interested in coaching an age group or returning to coaching please let us know on registration day and any young budding referees should do the same.
Socks and shorts will be available in all ages to purchase at registration on February 6 and 13, and we look forward to seeing you then for the start of another Redback Season.
The Redback Committee.
