Raiders shape up for 2010

10 Feb, 2010 08:53 AM
SHANE Franklin will be back home with the Raiders for the 2010 season after guiding Long Flat to a grand final victory in 2009.

Shane is looking forward to linking up with Chris Cole, a young player with a wealth of experience. Chris has played Jersey Flegg for Cronulla, as well as 1st grade for Wyong and Northern Lakes. His younger brother Scott is also interested in playing for the Raiders. Chris is looking forward to playing again with a mate from the Central Coast, Murray Joyce who will lock the scrum in 2010.

Coach, Sean Christy is confident that with the outstanding young players from the 2009 side and the addition of these new players Raider’s supporters can look forward to a very successful season in 2010.

Any new players are invited to attend training at the Lake Cathie Sports Field at 6pm Tuesdays.

It is interesting to note that four of the last six Hastings League Players of the Year have come from the ranks of the Raiders - Shaun Morley in 2004, Bill Butlin 2006, Shane Franklin 2007 and Luke Anquitel in 2009.

The Raiders conducted a season launch at the Lake Cathie Tavern on Saturday February 6.
