Aitken and B's ball was won by T. Page. Next week's game will be a Single Stroke and the starters will be B. Johnston & K. Budds. The Sunday raffle will be administered by J. Fairbrother, R. Woolgar & P. Raschke.
Seve Ballesteros reckoned "Golf fairways should be made more narrow. Then everyone would have to play from the rough, not just me".

LUSC LADIES
SOCIAL BOWLS
A very happy group of the LUSC ladies social bowls had a delicious meal at the Jade Gardens for their Christmas get together. Lots of laughter was heard so everyone was enjoying themselves. We had a raffle and Gloria Grogan won the 1st draw and chose a basket of Christmas goodies, Merle Luke won the 2nd draw and chose the voucher, while Marion McDonald won the 3rd draw and won the mystery prize which turned out to be a small coffee plunger and two cups. The first Game for the New Year will be on 7th January. So hoping everyone has a very happy Christmas and a safe New Year. Till the 7th.
CAMDEN HAVEN
JUNIOR CRICKET
U/13
Camden Haven travelled to Port Macquarie on Saturday to take on Port Leagues at Tuffins Lane in the last one dayer before the Christmas break. The Havens won the toss and captain Tyson Wiegold chose to have first use of the batting strip. At the end of 22 overs the Havens outfit were 6 for 91, a good score on the very slow out field. Tyson kept his good form with the bat going top scoring with 25 ( retired ), Angus Makin hit a quick fire 12 and Hayden Clarke made 15 not out. In reply the Port were very steady in their run chase, and at the end of their 22 overs were 5 for 49. Pick of the bowlers for Camden Haven was definitely our star newcomer Brendan Camilleri 3 overs 2 for 9, Mitch Williams finished with 1 for 4, Josh Witchard 1 for 2 and Garrett Baker 1 for 2 also.
A special congratulation to Tyson Wiegold and Hayden Clarke, Tyson was selected as first reserve in the under 13's and Hayden as Wicket Keeper in the under 12's Mid North Coast cricket squads to represent in January.
LUSC SNOOKER
Tuesday Snooker saw Jimbo Gill defeat Glen Kunze in the Major Final.
In the Minors we saw a long lost friend, Don Collier. He defeated Ronnie Howell.
We're hoping to see Don more often.
We had a few high breaks in Snooker. President Glen Kunze made a 68 break. This is the highest break for the year so far.
In Billiards Glen scored a 34 break. Congratulations Glen and good potting!
On Thursday 27/11/2008 it was our Billiards night for the month.
We saw a really good performance by Brian Lenard. He won the Major, defeating Keith Raicevich.
Congratulations Brian on your 29 break on the night. You did better than your fishing partner even though Jimbo Gill won the Minors defeating Colin Cook. It doesn't matter what the report says... Jimbo, you're a brilliant Billiards player. You just had a little bit of bad luck on the night. Better luck next time Jim.
The weekend of the 29th & 30th November Laurieton competed against Tamworth at the LUSC Club.
Sorry the Tamworth team had such a difficult time getting here because of all the flooding up their way, & lengthy diversions.
Eventually they all arrived safe and sound and the games got underway with a late start.
Even though Laurieton defeated Tamworth all the games were played in good spirit.
We had the advantage of being on our home turf....or maybe they're just saving the cost of engraving the shield...hee, hee.
I hope they had a safe and easier trip back home.
There'll be a return shield match against Tamworth in March.
This will give them a chance to put their name on the shield...maybe?!
I'd like to thank Col Bloomfield for cooking the barbecue lunch for everyone on Sunday.
See you all and don't forget 6 o'clock start!
Good potting.

LUSC Fishing Club
November 23, 2008
Gidday punters, isn’t it good to hear that some of us out there are doing something for the future. On Sunday Kiwi O’Neill and Marg were fishing their favourite bream hole when Kiwi hooked and landed a big flathead. They quickly lifted the anchor and raced to the Dunbogan Boat Shed where the fish was weighed and then released unharmed back to the water. The fish weighed in at 5.6kg and can hopefully go on and produce millions of babies, well done Kiwi.
I wish to congratulate our clubs junior fisho’s that competed in the Mid North Coast Freshwater comp a couple of weeks ago. Dylan Baldry, Matthew Woodward, Mitchell Lowe and new member Ben Lobston won Champion Junior team with Dylan Baldry winning Junior Champion and Ben Lobston runner-up. A special mention to our Club Captain Peter Hayes, who won the Men’s Champion for the same comp and also has won the Mid North Coast Casting comp, well done boys.
To the winners, Sub Junior Estuary winner Zac Heagney, Matt Woodward runner-up. Junior Estuary winner Mitchell Lowe, Ben Lobston runner-up. Men’s Estuary winner Gary (oops, forgot to put the bungs in) Edwards, Andy Martin runner-up. Men’s Vets Estuary winner Peter Pritchard, Ken Macdonald and Kiwi O’Neill tied for runner-up. Ladies Estuary winner Rebecca Heagney. Ladies Vets Estuary winner Mary Gatehouse, Marg Sheridan runner-up. Men’s Beach and Rock winner Col Trenaman. Men’s Deep Sea winner Duane Bligh, Bert ‘butchers’ Hayes runner-up. Men’s Vets Deep Sea winner Kiwi O’Neill, Ken Cowell runner-up. Ladies Vets Deep Sea winner Marg Sheridan, well done to all.
Treno’s tip, folks on a recent trip out to the north ledge at Point Perpendicular the other day I was disgusted with what I saw. There was rubbish strewn everywhere, empty beer bottles and cans, empty bait packets and discarded fishing line tangled up everywhere as well. People, please remember to take your rubbish with you when you leave as it is a lot lighter than when you first went out there with it. Please don’t give anybody an excuse to take away our fishing spots and take your rubbish with you when you leave!
Don’t forget our Christmas party is on December 7, at the rear of the LUSC club starting at 11am and our next fishing comp is on December 13 and 14, with the weigh-in at 1pm at the rear of the LUSC club. Until next month, happy hunting.
LUSC Indoor Sports Bowls
There was only one three game winning team this week Chris Wagner and Bill Hyde. Next Thursday December 4, is our Christmas party try to be at club by about 5pm. We will be having a few weeks off and return again on January 8, hoping all present members and any new ones are there. Till then Merry Christmas to all.

LUSC Lawn Bowls
A good day of bowls was enjoyed by a good roll-up of bowlers on Thursday last, but I was not one of them. I was touring the Hunter Valley and enjoyed every minute of it, but by what information I have received the worthy winners of the day were B Nixon, S Smallwood and Ian Johnston, 2nd winners C Harbon, Harold Baldry and Barry Shorter. The first runners-up were Brett Myer, no mention of who won two big family pies this week. He always makes and bakes two for raffle prizes, Fred Paine in the backside and Freddie fearless Easterbrook. The lucky number winners were $20 Kel Gough, not cough, $10 Ian Johnston and $5 to Ted Smallman. The Christmas Club raffle winners were Keith Ibbertson, Mr Wong again, and R Johnson. Those three lucky gents won $25 each, handy for Santa. I wonder if they give their wife half. Visitors John Manning from Port Macquarie, Jon Blank, I hope he is not and Bob Keats from North Haven. Sick list Ken McDonald, he has to go to the Mayo Hospital for treatment, Kevin Nieass and Jim Lennox, we wish them all a speedy recovery and we are looking forward to seeing their smiling faces very soon. There were no birthdays this week, how unusual. Well now, the mixed Christmas party is over, I hope you all enjoyed the happy afternoon, I am trying to get a Christmas in July party, but the response has not been very encouraging. I wonder why. We still have the Men’s Christmas party to go yet then we have a break from bowls till January, also the club championships start early February, the nomination sheet for the championships are on the notice board, so if you want to play in the championships put your name on the sheet, which closes on December 30, so join in the happy gathering, and make this year’s championships the big success last years was. Hope everyone is healthy, happy and Santa is very kind to you all. Merry Christmas to all.
Jack High.
PS: Who won enough hams Wednesday night to feed 200 people plus a Christmas hamper, if he eats all that pork, all he will be able to say is oink, oink. Lucky old Reggie eh.
LUSC Men’s Social Golf Club
Seventeen starters for the final of the club championships. Good to see Ted back out swinging a club, everyone’s missed his colourful expressions. Dunny coasted home to be named A grade champion for 2008, well done Brian, very consistent. Me and Jolly fought out for the nett champion with yours truly prevailing. In B grade Billy gave no one a chance with steady golf the whole 3 rounds, well done Billy, getting better as he gets older. Riddo took home the nett champions trophy. Next Sunday is our Christmas party, so come along for some kind of novelty event and then back to the LUSC for some great food, refreshments and plenty of laughs. Glen and Riddo have been busy setting a calendar for the whole of next years events, everyone should receive one at the Christmas party.
Mick Manyjobs.
