SAILING CLUB
Thirteen boats turned out for our Sprint Series of three short races in a variable Easterly breeze of around 10 knots.
All the starts were hotly contested including the last where one worried Laser skipper thought for a moment that he was about to be overtaken on both sides by a fast moving catamaran. Having skillfully avoided this predicament Flat Chat (Rohan Nosworthy) went on to be first across the line in all three races. Once again the light breeze was not helpful for the catamarans with all three well back on corrected times.
Even the boats carrying spinnakers failed to reach their potential, with single handed boats filling the first three places.
The winner overall was Bumsteer (Greg Marshall) from The Shark (Chris Watt) and Full Tilt (Kimberly Lentz). Then came Hakuna Matata, Bails, Bitza, Cocktail, Flat Chat, Light Year, Serial Thrilla, Rumpus, Anything and Pendragon.

LUSC MEN’S SOCIAL GOLF CLUB
A glorious Sunday morning saw a good roll-up of 20 players for a 4BBB. The pairing of players seemed to click as there were some pretty high scores recorded. In the end it was myself and Pepe just prevailing over Rossy and Robbo and Ant and Mickey Murray (welcome back Mick, good to see you brought Fletch along to be your caddy/driver). A lot of high scores so the handicapper is going to be busy this week. NTP’s in A grade 9th new member Rodney (welcome, I hope you enjoyed the morning). 10th AJ and Longdrive Robbo in B grade, 9th Billy, 10th grandfather again John Gawthorne and Long Drive Ant. Ladies hole Michele Murray and hotly contested 2nd shot Bruce. NAGA’s went to the two John’s, always look good in pink. The Eagles Nest has been changed from the 15th over to the 10th because we’re all hackers and the 15th was too hard to hit. See you all next Sunday.
Mick Manyjobs.
