SOCIAL GOLF

Last Wednesday 24 members with one visitor, (welcome Col), played a tightly contested Single Stableford. The A Grade winner with a score of 29 points was Ian Johnston. Second and third places were decided after a five way countback which saw Shane Madden take second place over Andy Aitken with both on 27. B Grade's winner was Merv McLean with 32 points, Roy Woolgar was second with 30 and Trevor Lewis third with 29 points. NTP on the 5th in A Grade was George Butlin and Roy Perry won the ball for B Grade. NTP on the 8th was Shane Madden for A Grade and Trevor Lewis in B Grade. Best putting in A Grade went to George Butlin with 24 putts and B Grade's ball went to Brian Hudson also with 24. Next week's game will be a 2 Man Ambrose and the starters will be Neville Craft and Brian Hudson. The Sunday raffle will be presided over by George and Ann Butlin and the Monday raffle will be the precinct of Greg Clarke and Fred Paine. Looking at all those short putts today inspired the thought "If you want the ball to go in the hole then first you've got to hit it".

Fishing Club

What a great social club we are, over 60 adults, juniors and others caught up for a great afternoon.

Over 60 weighed in for 40 kilos including salmon @ 2.78kg (Steve), John Dory @ .42 (Trev), Jewfish .86 (Justin) and leather jacket 1.18 (Dennis).

Dave Paddock - Beach & Rock; Steve Lange - Estuary; Dennis Burns - Seep Sea.

Congratulations to Clive on shedding his apprenticeship and is now a fully fledged bbq man. It must mean something when people fly in from Adelaide just for a sausage sanga.

Di, it does take longer to get over birthday celebrations the more you have. Thanks again to Kumbak Bakery, T-Bones, North Haven Bait & Tackle and the Lauro Pub. (new members welcome, ask me or someone smart.

Social Golf

A glorious Sunday morning greeted golfers for a 2 man Ambrose. The course is in great shape and the mornings have warmed up so there’s no excuse not to get to golf. There were a few black armbands about after the Dragons poor effort the night before but there’s always next year. Dietzie and Bruce combined the best to take home the voucher just in front of Al and Pepe. Father and son Saunders will be pretty in pink next start after collecting the NAGA award. Could you all have a look through your cupboards and see if you have any NAGA shirts and bring them to golf.
