Branden, Cory, Harley, Sam, Jye and Griffin were full of talk and enthusiasm. Billy, Jarrod and Grant all scored tries. Broden with big bullicking runs won Man of the Match. Well done boys.

CH REDBACKS

JUNIOR SOCCER

CH Blue Widders Consultancy v Port Saints Sharks

The game started pretty evenly matched even though we had no subs and Port had a full side. Good header skills by Jack saw some interesting saves on the goal line. Jeb and Jack combined well again covering the field from front to back. Harrison at the back played strongly with good solid support from Joshua and Tim, while Michael played the first half in goals. Half time saw a change in goalkeeper bringing Mike on to the field to help with defence and Joshua in goals. Fantastic - I think we have found a goalkeeper in Josh. Great work in the second half. Goal score ended at 6 nil to Port. Player of the Match went to Jack Miller. See everyone at training.

U/10 C H Ray White R/E (Red) V C H (Black)

Saturday saw the team have to play their mates from the other Redbacks team. Ben.M scored a hatrick of goals before 1st half and another 1 goal in the 2nd. Our other goal scorers were Ben.S 1, Tayne 1, and Sam 1. Nathan was never under pressure as goalie and Riley never saw any action up his end as goalie in the 2nd half. Beth, Aaron and David contributed to great team play while Toby, Lachlan and Isaac were always in on the action keeping the Blacks scoreless for the 7-0 blitz. Well Done Reds!

Under 13 Girls

CH Laundry v Hornets

We failed to lift our intensity as we spoke about - getting to the ball first. However unjustly went down 5 goals to nil. 2 nil a more fitting result as 3 goals should not have been. God knows. Anyhow keep working and having fun see you at training next week home again 12 noon.

LUSC YD1 v Port United

Home game away at Dixie, snuck in for a 1 nil win via a cheeky back heel by Nathan Laws off one of many neat through balls by one legged Dean Arnold. Lady luck is not on Huck’s side at present, it will come hang in there. The game was mostly played in United’s half as they dug deep to keep us out. I’m sure the gates would have opened at home. Strangely enough next week we are at Kemp St 8.40am v Saints. Stay focused lads a home game is just around the corner - NOT.

CH EAGLES

JUNIOR LEAGUE

Under 7’s

This week we travelled to Lake Cathie where the boys put in a great performance, coming out victors 34 points to 18. The boys were committed to tackling and running hard. Davy had his best game of the year tackling great and running hard. He also scored 2 tries and kicked a goal. Blake was outstanding playing at dummy half. Charlie, Thomas, Brad, Ike, Ben and new boy Brent (who we welcome to the team) all played well. Try sorers were Davy 2, Charlie 2, Ike 2 and Brad 1. The boys kicked 4 goals - great effort. Thanks to Luke for coming over and supporting the boys and doing his custom push up’s after a great win for the boys.

Under 11’s

Off to Taree this week to take on Panthers Green. Well what can I say, the Under 11’s was on everyone’s lips, even if we didn’t win this week, a great effort by all and a game that was played with all heart.

Panthers 26, Eagles 6. Tom 1 try, Josh Kelly 1 goal. Harry, Scott, McKenzie, Jarrod, Lachlan Hayman, Marcus, Matt, Josh O’Dell, James, Alex, Zac, Lachie Hudson, Jarman and Riley made up this hot team. Good going guys.

LUSC Mens Social Golf

What a glorious Sunday morning for a round of golf, then somebody ruined it by suggesting we play a stroke event.

There was some pretty good scores on the day but Sladie took home the major prize (meat tray from our sponsor T-Bones) followed by Jolly on countback for second. Don’t worry fellas I’ve kept the score cards for the handicapper. Speaking of handicapper where were you Dunny. Ruddo will proudly wear the NAGA shirt next week. AGM will be held soon, date to follow and don’t forget Bato’s day August 3, it will be a 3 man Ambrose so get your teams together.

LUSC Lawn Bowls

Weather was beaut on Thursday last, brought the bowlers out in a large attendance, which make up a good enjoyable afternoon for everybody. Now bowlers, some news about a bus trip being organised to Tasmania, when - March 5, to March 19, 15 days all up and we are seeking expressions of interest at this stage in respect of numbers that may want to go. I have a few programs that explains everything to those that are interested. Any bowls members interested, can contact Frank Honeyman on 6559 7870 for any further information. Lady single bowlers welcome, of course single fares are a little extra. I can assure you it is a very good schedule, so if interested, give Frank a ring we must know how many want to go. So think about it, it will be a good trip and the snow will be gone by then. Bring on the cascade. Now for the results of the games on Thursday. First winners Harold Baldry and Keith McCosker, 2nd rink Peter Raschke visitor Trevor Rose and the powerful old skipper pommie Bennett, 3rd winning rink was Tubby Archer, Fred Paine, we have a few of them and Eric Carney, I thought one Carney was plenty. Lady bowlers, another day of sunshine, good company, good greens etc, but the winners of the day were Gloria Smith and Joy Smithers won the bowls and raffle I think anyway ladies keep up the good work. Now bowlers, don’t forget about our AGM will be held on Monday July 28, at the LUSC commencing at 2pm. Nominations for all committee positions are open from President down to publicity officer. We would like to see heaps of names down it is a pretty successful little club, so put your name down and make it a huge successful little club. Nomination sheets are on the notice board now located at the public phone area. Nominations will definitely close on Monday July 18, at 6pm. Any motions for inclusions at the AGM must be received in writing addressed to the bowls secretary Allan Bradford and left at front desk at LUSC within 21 days clear of the meeting, so come on folk, put your name down and have a go for committee. We have organised a mixed bowls visit to Wingham Club on Sunday August 17, this is the last bus trip for 2008, so this is a good club, we have visited it many times and always had a good day. The sheets and cost etc, will be displayed on the notice board very shortly. Yes folk, think about our bus trip to Tasmania and let me know as soon as it is convenient, I think it will fill up pretty quickly. That is all for this time, see you all on Thursday.

LUSC Snooker

Thursday night billiards - President Glen Kunze has won many games and championships in the world of snooker and billiards. This major final was played between two of our best members and that’s not to put “Jimbo Gill” down. Jim is semi retired from sport and these days just enjoys looking after his children and the love of his life (Joan). Now GP Palmer is a player that doesn’t like anyone cutting his grass. This final was a cracker “Bundy” wins this time but Captain “win all” will be waiting in the final of this years billiards champinships. The “Snakeman” and GP played yesterday but we will wait till next week to see which one plays Glen “good luck.” Minor Final “look out.” She did it last year. Will she do it this year “our lady Thea” springs into action and class players drop like flies including a disappointed Mick Banicek. No wonder “Peter Mayne” left really early. Now Keith Racievich is a key member and without him it’s not the same. We all miss you and hope you return soon. Tuesday Major Final “The Kunze” has had enough “let’s see what your really got boys.” Ray McLaughlin potted two balls and tucks into yet another cheese burger. Minor Final “Life Member” Jimbo plays fishing mate “Old Smoothie.” Controversy surrounds but “Mr Gill” is a protected species. Don’t forget “Pops” is watching. Brian misses and gentleman Jim wins a chicken for the next fishing trip. Visitors and North Haven Snooker Club players are all welcome but “Two Balls” would rather see this club keep together “fire up boys” 6pm Tuesdays and Thursdays.

North Haven Indoor Bowls

We had a very successful AGM last Tuesday night with most positions not being challenged so not much has changed. Roy Woolgar is our President and John Smith and Catherine Lakeman are Vice Presidents. There is a new Secretary/Treasurer in Eleonor Smith whom I am sure will fill the position very well.

After the meeting we enjoyed a light supper of soup and sandwiches and then it was on for the usual games. Firstly we must welcome back Val and Russell Glasson from Victoria who are yearly visitors to our area. There was only 1 x 3 game winner this week - Russell Glasson and Jim Cleary. Runners-up were Eleonor Smith and Mavis Coates. Scratchies were won by Roy Woolgar and Betty Bradley, Lestor Watson and Chris Wagner, Kate Anderson and Dorothy Johnston, Jack Caples and Bill Taylor.
