Support riding high

A fundraiser for the Bonny Hills skate park is being held on November 14 at the North Haven Bowling Club.

Local community support for the project has been very strong with a number of local tradesmen already indicating they would provide their services free of charge to help build the new park.

The current skate park is already popular with the youth of the area but there is a need to expand and improve the amenity.

“It seems to be a well utilised asset. It would be one of the best ramps in the Hastings. There’s nothing like it at Port,” fundraiser organiser Marty Dures said.

The parks fundraising commitee hopes to raise about $10,000 from the night.

Local ABC radio presenter Fiona Wylie will be the presenter on the night which starts at 7.15pm.

Tickets are $10 each or tables of 10 can be booked. Tickets can be purchased at the bowling club, North Haven newsagency, Bonny Hills Store and Block Buster Video Lake Cathie. For further details ring Marty Dures on 0427 882 022.
