BRING you laughing gear and your togs to Laurieton Pool on Friday March 12, 6pm, for the business house relay, this year in aid of Anne Overton’s fundraising efforts for Motor Neurone Disease.
The community fundraising event pits local personalities against each other and the clock all in the spirit of fun, friendship and support.
The relay event is not about speed but consistency. Your team’s first swim on the night will be your “entry time” and you need to stick close to that to remain in the competition.
So gather teams of four from your workplace, sporting club, gym class, school etc, fill in a registration form available from the pool and register with your fee of $40 per team.
“You can swim or dog paddle with whatever aids you like, as long as you swim to you nominated time you’ll come out the prize winners,” said pool manager Brad Holt.
“So whether you want to swim in flippers, full scuba gear or a pink fairy outfit with wings, tiara and a fluffy tutu, gather your team and have a go.”
Between relay events will be a Dash for Cash - an open event with $50 cash up for grabs for the fastest lap of the pool (33metres). Entries for the Dash for Cash will be taken on the night but you must be part of a relay team to enter. Children’s novelty events will also be held between relay races, the toddler pool will be open to children under 5 years old only. Barbecue, hot food and drinks will be available. So register now for the Laurieton Pool Business House Relay. For more information phone the pool on 65599072.
