Wins all round

Laurieton United Services Club Camden Haven 1st grade cricket side didn’t have to venture too far for their 4th round encounter against Port Panthers Pirates at Laurieton.

Winning the toss captain Nathan sent the opposition in on a damp wicket. Early wickets to Brad (2) and Sam ( 3) saw the opposition in trouble at 5/19 off only 9 overs. Some middle order resistance saw the visitors finish with 172 off 38. Brad taking another 2 wickets and one each to Daniel and Nathan.

Andy and Sean opened our batting and put on 24 before Sean departed with 16 runs. Al then joined Andy to take the score to 108 before Al returned with 28. Sam didn’t trouble the scorers too much with 4, Jamie then took centre and Andy fell for a well compiled 64 runs.

Jamie and Nathan then ticked the score over to 172 before Jamie fell for 21, Nathan 12. Daniel and Brad were to finish the innings with 18 and 12 not out to pass the opposition total with only 2 overs to spare.

The large crowd on the hill had the benefit of a talking scoreboard to keep them up to the minute with a running commentary on the score and overs in hand.

A great win guys.

3rd grade played on Inmon and also won the toss but elected to bat first. Steady scoring from Kane 4, Benn 14 (with injury), Bryan 22, Daniel 6, Mitch 10, Michael 9, David 21, Fred 15, and sundries 12 saw the score build to 114. 5 wickets to James, 2 to Mitch, 1 to Daniel and 1 to Michael had the opposition packing their bags and returning home with only 60 runs and a loss. Another good win guys.

4th grade made the long trip to Kendall to face Bonny Hills. We won the toss and sent them into bat. 4 wickets to Keegan, 1 to Zakh, 2 to Rod and 3 to young gun Jayden had the opposition all out for 97 after 31 overs. Our batting innings was a little one sided with father and son duo Nev and Keegan taking to the bowlers and between them put on 100 runs off 15 overs with no loss of wickets. Nev 24 & Keegan 71. An early afternoon and a great win guys.
