Laurieton swimmers perform strongly

SEVEN members from Laurieton Amateur Swimming Clubcompeted at the Speedo Sprint Heats held in Port Macquarie last Saturday.

Jedd Goggin again proved that he's no slouch in the water finishing 2nd in the 50m butterfly therefore qualifying for the Speedo Sprint Finals to be held in Sydney. Congratulations Jedd. Jedd also finished 3rd 50m freestyle and 5th 50m breaststroke.

Courtney Pasfield just missed a place in the finals finishing 3rd in the 50m butterfly. Courtney will be a reserve for that event. Courtney finished 5th 50m backstroke, 5th 50m freestyle and 4th 50m breaststroke. Jake Sanderson also just missed the finals finishing 3rd in the 50m freestyle. Jake also finished 5th in the 50m breaststroke and 5th 50m butterfly. Adam Augey 5th 50m butterfly, 4th 50m freestyle and 4th 50m breaststroke. Emerson Augey 4th 50m backstroke, 5th 50m freestyle and 5th 50m backstroke. Brock Conry 5th 50m backstroke and 7th 50m breaststroke. Joel Conry swam his little heart out and was unlucky not to finish in the placings. Well done guys and Courtney, Saturdays competition was very tough and you all swam very well.

The Conry boys will be travelling to Gloucester this Saturday for the final Carnival of the season. The School Swimming Carnival Season is in full swing and we are very proud to have at least eights age champions amongst our club members already. With several Schools still to have their carnivals we expect several more LASC school champions. Good luck everyone.
