The nominees are:
❏ Derrick Walton: Former Wauchope High School vice-captain Derrick Walton already has achieved a great deal in his 19 years.
In 2010, he was awarded a certificate of commendation and medallion from the Order of Australia Association for his service to the community.
Derrick has been involved in a number of peer support programs and anti-bullying campaigns, and appeared in the film Dungoona, which deals with problems
associated with violence, drugs and sex in high school.
❏ Matthew Cocking: Volunteering is something Matthew Cocking has been doing for a number of years.
Matthew recently received a “diamond” award for 80 hours of volunteer service work inder the NSW Premier’s Volunteering program.
Matthew also is an active member of The Salvation Army church brass band, and helps raise money for breast
cancer awareness, Legacy and the Red Shield Appeal.
❏ Bethany Rennes: Bethany Rennes gives back to the community through her many volunteering roles.
Whether it is for The Salvation Army, reading programs, Port Macquarie Base Hospital or the school canteen, Bethany always is available.
Bethany also is an active member of the St Agnes Parish Youth Advisory Council and is a member of the Hastings District Pipe Band.
