National Scouting Report has been America’s premier scouting service for college coaches and high school athletes since launching the industry in 1980.
NSR Soccer Australia is now giving talented young boys and girls the opportunity to take their soccer to the next level. Playing soccer in a USA College allows them to play soccer in a full time, professional environment whilst at the same time earning a degree.
Formerly of Kendall, but now living in Port Macquarie with parents Gary and Donna, Lachlan is a keen young athlete who completed his Higher School certificate last year. He has played all his junior football with the Camden Haven Redbacks, graduating to the senior team where he is now an established part of the first grade midfield. He has been a representative junior player in both the outdoor form of the game as well as in futsal (indoor soccer).
After applying through the NSR, Lachlan was informed through their Admissions Department that he had been offered a place on their program due to his football skills, playing ability and academic level.
After a trial and various videos of his playing ability, NSR then secured him an athletic scholarship in the United States..
18 year old Lachlan knows what a massive opportunity this is in pursuing his dream of maybe playing football professionally in the States and at the same time completing his tertiary education. He is under no illusion that this will only happen with a 100% commitment to training and studying but feels he is up to the challenge, as do his parents and other local soccer administrators.
“ I’m really grateful to have very supportive parents. Mum and Dad have constantly backed me in my sporting and education choices both financially and with genuine encouragement.
“He’s worth it” said mum Donna, who is also secretary of the Camden Haven Redbacks Football Club. “I know he’ll give it his best shot - we’ll miss him terribly, but it’s an opportunity we feel is too good to let pass by.
