It is estimated over $100,000 was raised for the Cancer Council through the Relay for Life event held at Stuart Park Port Macquarie on Saturday.
Cancer sufferers, survivors, carers friends and families walked together in a united fundraising event.
Also included on the day was the launch of ‘The Journey’, a CD of 12 songs penned by Bonny Hills man Keith Bulley detailing his thoughts and experiences in dealing with his own cancer. His words were put to music by musician friend Martin Jensen with proceeds of all sales again going to the Cancer Council of NSW.
Keith, along with his many friends and supporters have further expanded the musical theme as a Cancer Council fundraiser and ‘The Journey’ continues this Saturday night at the Bonny Hills Beach Hotel with a huge night of live music and monster raffles with some fabulous prizes on offer.
For a $10 entry donation three bands, ‘Right Go Left,’ ‘Glen Heath and the Deep Blue Sea’ and ‘Ghost Road’‘ will entertain throughout the night, along with Martin Jensen who will perform a song from The Journey CD entitled ‘Freedom Spirit.’
One major raffle will feature a Stratocaster electric guitar while prizes in the other major raffle range from accommodation packages, golfing equipment, alcohol, dining out packages, memorabilia and so much more.
This musical night of fundraising for the Cancer Council is the talk of the town and the fun and action starts from 6.30pm this Saturday night at the Bonny Hills Beach Hotel.
