First loss for U/18 Eagles

THE North Haven Bowling Club sponsored Camden Haven U/18’s lost their first game of the Group 3 Rugby League competition last Sunday, at Forster, against Taree City Bulls.

It was a tough, close encounter, marred by many handling errors and costly errors.

Despite the result, coach Brett Farnsworth was upbeat with the result.

“Our training has been disrupted because of the weather and this showed with fatigue creeping in during the latter stages of the match. We took some wrong options and our discipline fell away. Having two players in the sin bin certainly didn’t help us, but there were still enough positives coming out of the match to keep our supporters happy.

The boys realise that they will need to work hard at training to increase their fitness levels to be able to concentrate for the whole game. They made the commitment after the game to be at all training sessions and really put in 100% to improve on this result.”

The final score was Taree 14 and Eagles 6.

Jed Seymour scored a try and Alex Pearce converted.

The Eagles travel to Wauchope this Saturday with the game kicking off at 12.50p.m.
