Three Brothers transition plan workshop

The first series of workshops in March of the Three Brothers Network gathered together over 30 community groups and businesses from Coopernook and Moorland in the south to Kendall and Kew in the north as well as many interested parties and made a great start in identifying key issues and opportunities for the region. A further intense workshop is now planned for Thursday May 10 at the Kendall Services & Citizens Club starting at 5.30 pm.

This workshop will firm up the ideas into action plans and strategies to be pursued by a number of working groups. The key areas are currently:

*The Best ways to work together. (Cooperation between areas, common issues and concerns, getting information to the community and getting around etc.)

*An Eye to the Future (Making the most of opportunities that will arise in the future: - NBN, local energy sources, education and employment hubs etc.)

* Nurturing the Land (securing our rural base and food supply in the future, new ways of thinking)

*Showcasing & Exploring Our Region (What the region has to offer visitors and how to enhance those resources)

*Doing Business in Three Brothers (The challenges and potential of small businesses in small towns and villages)

However there is still time for additional ideas and actions to be discussed. For any further information contact Kevin Williams - Project Facilitator. Tel: 6556 5103 and please for catering purposes RSVP by May 7.
