Kendall Blues travelled to Long Flat last weekend to take on the Dragons in the Hastings Saturday league. .
Good defence and attack in the first half saw the half time score 14-18. It was a hard fought game but the Dragons took advantage of multiple injuries to Blues players and ran in a few quick tries at the end of the match and the game finished with a score of 48 - 20.
Tries for Kendall went to Dave O’Hara, Phil Brown, Adrian Pensini and Gary Cook with Kane Pearce kicking 2 goals.
Thank you to all the supporters who made the trip out to Long flat. This week’s match is at home against Lower Macleay and we hope to see everyone there to support the Kendall Blues. Kick off is 2pm.
Meanwhile the double header at Regional stadium Port Macquarie started with a high quality game between the Boardriders and Lower Macleay. The Magpies started crisply and put early points on the board. From then it was an arm wrestle with both teams testing each others defences before Lower Macleay ran in some late tries to blow out the score. The score was not a true indication on the game which was of a high quality ( Magpies 52 - Boardies 16 ).
The second game between the Hi-tec Sharks and the Beechwood Shamrocks showed that both teams are a little off the pace when it comes to attack and defence. In what was a scrappy affair the two teams arm wrestled for 70 minutes before the Sharks scored a couple of late tries to come away with the win. (Sharks 30 - Shamrocks 18 )
At Lake Cathie the Raiders showed their class all over the paddock in what was a quality game of football.
They came away with the win ( Raiders 40 - Tigers 20 ), but keep an eye out as the Tigers will certainly rattle some cages before the season’s end.
Come out and support your local team and have a great afternoon at the footy which is for the whole family.
