U7's - Whites

On Sunday we had our Gala day at Laurieton Oval.

What a cracker of a day!

We played 7 games throughout the day.

Deklan & Teejay scored their first goals for the season.

Finlay our little bulldozer was on fire as usual.

Charlotte new to the soccer fields played an awesome day with huge kicks & passes.

We also had Tommy from U7's Reds help us out, scoring numerous goals.

Brody, Jazz, Charlie & Tate from U7's Sapphires gave 100% in their goal scoring skills.

Thanks to everyone that attended and helped out, it was a great day!

See you all at training on Wednesday - Annette

U9 Reds vs Port Macquarie Wallabies

A beautiful Saturday morning and a busy Laurieton oval was the setting for the match between the U9 Reds and the Port Wallabies.

Both teams proudly wearing their team colours for what proved to be a very exciting match. Jayden Hoffman was our teams energiser bunny this week and seemed to be absolutely everywhere on the field. He combined with his brother Riley and Ely Payne provided us with solid attacking play. Joel Newman and newcomer Demi Magnus did well to cover midfield and provide plenty of support to their team mates. Chelsea Hall dazzled us all with her terrific ball skills and teamed with George Forster's massive boot did an excellent job of defending our goal. Jacob Worton was our surprise this week and did an amazing job of finding space on the field which allowed him plenty of cracks at the Wallabies goal. The final score was 3-2 to CH Reds which gives us our first well deserved win of the season (Goal scorers - Jacob Worton- 2, Riley Hoffman -1).

Well done guys I hope you enjoyed the game and Sunday's Gala day, see you at training on Wednesday - Sam -

U16 Girls V Port FC

The Redbacks sitting in 6th, took on the competition leaders last Friday being the only game on the night. A very minute crowd was on hand to witness what wound up to be a thriller. Both sides gave it all and the longer it went, the more intense it got. For us, Helena came up with her best game I have seen. What about the shot off the post and Erica solid as ever in goals? The rest of the side, well done. Yes it was a nil all draw but it was an outstanding performance. Thanks Wade for supporting up on short notice - girls keep this sort of enthusiasm up and we will be in for a fine season. Next week Dixie Park 7.20pm. Guess who’s Birthday? Keep it up . See you at training. Keep having fun.

JUNIOR LEAGUE

U/9’s

It’s a win! The first win of the season. The U9’s played Wauchope Red who shot across the line early. But, the Eagles fired up and everyone stepped up. The try count: Jackson 2, Hayden 3, Patrick 3, Zane 1 and Riley 1. Hayden, Kai and Patrick each kicked a goal.

What was different this week? The team backed each other up and put the try scorer in the right position to get over the line. While the try scorers streaked towards the try line, all the other Eagles ran with them to back him up. Other runners on the day included Tim 3, Jason 3, Dylan 4 and James 5. Connor, Ethan and Moses all had a go as well. Tim and Patrick got to the line but had the tries disallowed.

Then, when Wauchope Red did have the ball, the Eagles stuck to their guns and tackled the house down, keeping their try count to 3. Big tackle counts went to Riley 4, Zane 3, Patrick 4, Kai 3, Hayden 3 and Tim 3. There was one great try-saving team tackle and Connor, Jackson and James had a go.

While it’s hard to pick individual performances given the strength of the team effort two standouts included a length of the field run by Riley to score a try, and James jumped on two loose balls stopping the Wauchope Reds getting nearer their try line.

It was a solid performance by the whole team. Well done boys.

U/15’s

Eagles 4, Taree Panthers 34

Another trip to Taree, but somewhere inbetween you got lost. Some good passages of play and individual commitment was out weighed by too many fundamental errors and disicipline. Once again you were out numbered 18 - 15 and by halftime it was 18 v 13, with boys trying to hang in there for their team and mates, gutsy, well done. Injuries have been hard on the team and I guess it would be a bit deflating turning up each week knowing you are going to be out numbered, but to your credit you do, and do it well. Hang in there boys, it WILL turn around. Train hard, believe in one another, do the simple things well and be disciplined, you will be ok. Overall some great individual efforts, but you need more team commitment and belief in one another, worry together, it will make it easier. Player's player Lachey Hayman. Hold your heads up boys. Well Done. Sideline

LUSC SOCAL GOLF

With a number of our regulars away on Sunday there was only Paul, Trev, Ruddo, Tony M and myself gathered at the first tee. We decided on a stroke event. It was one of the coldest mornings yet and it was a few holes before the gloves and beanies came off. There was some good shots coming off the tee, however the putting was terrible (blame the fast greens). Ruddo was getting away some good drives (and some not so good ones), Trev strung together some good pars, once he sorted out his putting. Tony M and Paul were pretty consistent while I had my usual nine on the par 5's. Finished up pretty even with only Tony M playing under handicap to take it out with 52. At the back of the field was Paul with 58. There will be a few handicap adjustments this week. A big thankyou to Lenny Lane who has done our new cards, there should be no more confusion about index's. Phil, well I will mention his name so he doesn't felt left out!. Hopefully back to a bigger field this week. Just some early notice, it is our turn to do the raffles on the 1st June. See ya Sunday.

Headdown.

WIGGLY TAIL BUTCHERY Div 4 – OMG! What you girls can do for an ice block. Best game I’ve seen you play this season. Good team work and great shooting. The girls & parents who travelled to Newcastle to watch the Swifts vs Fever on Sunday all had a fantastic time and hopefully it has inspired you to play even better netball. Well done and see you at training.

TRAVELAND Div 2- This was a fantastic game girls, against Port Combined Diamonds, apart from being very nice girls, they really can play netball! We had no subs so it was a "doubly" great effort to come home with a win. Our attack and shooters Natalie, Nikki and Emily showed skill and tenacity helped by Deannah, our centre, who controls the mid-court and speed of play. We can't forget the defence, Jade Joanna and Grace, who created some great turnovers, via intercepts, that our shooters capitalised on. I hope to see as many of you as possible at training. We missed Kirra, Sarah S, and Sarah C and you all missed a great game but never mind there will be more great games along the way! Congratulations to our very talented Goal Defence, Jade Rand, who has been selected to play in the U18's North Coast team in the N.S.W school competition. She is a great player and a lovely girl and our whole team and club are very proud of her! Anne
