First win for Blues

Kendall Blues secured their first victory of the season in a hard fought Hastings League clash against Beechwood Shamrocks on Saturday.

Beechwood started the scoring with the first try of the day scored in the 6th minute. Kendall then replied in the 20th minute with Peter Sproul crossing the line for the first time since starting with the Blues in 2008. This was followed by another 2 tries to Kendall which saw the score 16 - 4 at half time.

The Blues came out firing after half time and Dave O’Hara ran an almost length of the field try to kick off their scoring in the second half. This was followed by a barrage of tries from both teams with Kendall running in three more tries to Beechwood’s two resulting in the final score of 40 - 14 in favour of the Blues.

Tries on the day went to Peter Sproul (2), Chris Hanlon, Arnold Turnbull, Dave O’Hara, Ethan Barber and Dylan Baldry. Goals went to Shaun Pearce (3) and Chris Hanlon (3).
