LAST week the Camden Haven Courier was contacted by Toby Stewart to help solve a family mystery.
Mr Stewart has a number of World War 1 photographs of soldiers from the Laurieton area, one is pictured left.
Toby is the great nephew of World War 1 soldier Colin Arnott of Laurieton, whose remains were found just two years ago on the former battlefield of Fromelles. Colin’s remains were among 250 bodies discovered in mass graves. The identified remains were reinterred in individual graves in France at Fromelles Military Cemetery.
“Colin’s brother Ken also served with him and survived the war, his wife Lillian Arnott had the pictures and according to the family they were known as Lils Boys,” Mr Stewart said.
