LOCAL surfers have achieved and excelled at the top level with many World, Australian and State Titles over the years, to our credit.
Local Clubs are prolific in nurturing and mentoring young surfers. The local surfing community from Port Macquarie to North Haven will unite on Saturday November 3 at North Haven Bowling Club to celebrate local surfing history from 1912 to 2012.
The following Awards will be presented at the event: The Surfer of the Century; The Club of the Century; The Top Twenty Surfers of the Century; A unique surfing character; and Contributions to surfing by individuals.
Documentation of complete and comprehensive history of surfing for Port Macquarie and Camden Haven will be provided to our local libraries to preserve our rich surfing culture for future generations.
Any persons who have any significant surfing historical photos, local made surf craft, artefacts that would like to contribute due to relevance to local history or who wish to nominate someone for an “Award”, please contact Helen on 6559 7143.
Local surfing greats will be in attendance for the event so if you are a local surfer from a present or past decade including short and long boards, ski’s and body boards, sailboards, surf mats or a body surfer or SUP paddler, this celebration is for you.
Tickets are $40 per head which includes a two course meal with beverage plus entertainment. We are limited to 350. Tickets are available from: Inner Vision Surf Shop Port Macquarie; Sandy Feet Surf Shop Port Macquarie; Beach Town Surf Shop North Haven.
