The Rotary Club of Laurieton and the Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce, organised the inaugural Camden Haven Excellence in Business awards 2014.
Normally Rotary do the “Pride of Workmanship Award” every couple of years, but this year decided to honor the local businesses.
The community was asked to nominate businesses who they felt had offered a better service than the norm, said Rotary president John Saunders.
"We received around 53 nominations plus many businesses were nominated quite a few times," John said.
"There was a large number of nominations, which means our local businesses must be doing something right."
For many nominees and attendees at the awards dinner it was a rare opportunity to mingle with other local business owners.
Around 140 people attended the dinner at the Laurieton United Services Club and all are looking forward to the event in 2015.
