Daniel McGovern scored his first hat-trick for United as the Green Bloods continued their charge towards the Football Mid North Coast Premier League finals.
Lucas Heagney, Simon Granfield and Liam Clarke also scored goals.
Omaru Park had traditionally been a fortress for the Wildcats, but United was keen to post another win after finally breaking the hoodoo last season.
Heagney's opener was a screamer. He beat the Wildcats wall and the keeper with a stunning drive.
McGovern was on the end of a Granfield ball to double the lead before picking up his second to give the team a 3-0 lead at half-time.
The injection of Josh Casey into the midfield gave United a spark in the second half. Liam Clarke moved into the left wing position vacated by James O'Connor.
Wildcats slotted a penalty from the spot in the second half, after United captain Andy Collins brought down an attacker in the box.
McGovern then showed some skill in picking up his third for the match, before Granfield scored the team's fifth and Clarke the sixth.
Coach Chris Walsh was particularly pleased with his team's improved decision making throughout the match.
Walsh said the six goals could easily have been eight or 10.
"Recently we have been converting a high percentage of our opportunities, in contrast to the early parts of the season," he said.
Reserve grade also got the points on the weekend. United won 2-0, with goals to Jake Avery and Adam Breust.
The win ensures United holds second spot on the competition ladder. Walsh's men sit four points behind league leader Wallis Lake.
United is back at Dixie Park this weekend to take on Wingham Warriors, who sit in 10th place on the ladder.
A thunderstorm put paid to the match between Camden Haven Redbacks and Port Saints on Saturday.
It came at precisely the wrong time, forcing the match to be abandoned.
Port FC players would have wished their match was called off.
The blue men were on the wrong end of a 6-0 hiding by Wallis Lake at Boronia Park.
