"It's all about communication." "Listen to each other." "Laugh with each other."
Inspirational, yes? Yes, but there's just something liberating and extremely refreshing when a couple tells it like it really is.
After 60 years of wedded bliss, Dick and Jan Davies (pictured) from Dunbogan have probably hit the nail on the head from an advice perspective.
"Alcohol," Dick quipped.
"And knowing when to turn your hearing aid down," Jan retorted.
But on a more serious front they both agree that plenty of patience is what got them through the tough times.
The Davies started holidaying in North Haven 53 years ago and their love of the area was what prompted Dick to retire early, buy a house here and make the move 28 years ago.
The couple met on Jan's 16th birthday at Oatley Hotel and married in Sutherland on August 7, 1954.
They have four children, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
