Running in the 14 years age division, over a distance of 4 km, Tom ran a great race, finishing in third place.
The North Coast Regional Cross Country Champion each year for the last six years, Tom has been winning races and breaking records at North Coast regional, Lower North Coast zone, and Camden Haven High School carnivals consistently.
At the North Coast regional carnival in Coffs Harbour earlier this month, Tom broke the 14 years, 1500m record, by more than six seconds, in a time of 4:30:03 mins.
Prior to this, at the Lower North Coast zone carnival in Nambucca Heads in June, Tom broke the 14 years, 1500m record, by more than 25 seconds, in a time of 4:40:38 mins. At the Camden Haven High School carnival in May, Tom broke the 14 years 800m and 1500m school records.
He will now compete at the NSW CHS State Athletics Titles, to be held at the Sydney Athletics Centre Homebush in September 14.
