On Saturday September 12, from 1pm to 3:30pm residents of Benaroon Drive, members of the Kendall and surrounding communities, paramedics, fire fighters from Fire & Rescue NSW, Rural Fire Service volunteers, SES and Surf Lifesaving volunteers are invited to this special thank you event at the Kendall Showground.
“Everyone who was involved in the search for William from the moment he was noticed missing and in the days and weeks following are invited to attend this special ‘Tea 4 William Tyrrell’ event organised by Kendall’s Where’s William? Volunteers,” said campaign spokesperson and Bravehearts CEO Hetty Johnston AM.
Following William’s disappearance, the showground featured as the the heart of the search and command centre of Strike Force Rosann where volunteers from across the region registered, were marshalled and briefed while other volunteers provided food and drink which had been generously donated to help sustain the searchers.
“William’s family wants to show their deep and sincere gratitude to everyone who helped in the search for William and acknowledge the tremendous love and community spirit shown for their little boy and his family,” Ms Johnston said.
“This special event will provide the hundreds of searchers and community members with the opportunity to reflect on their strength of spirit and their tremendous effort in the search for William, the little boy in the Spider Man suit.
“It will also be a poignant reminder to everyone that little William is still missing; that we must not give up hope; that we must continue the search and never give up looking until we find William and bring him home.
“William’s family are inviting everyone to be part of this special event and show their support for the ongoing campaign to find William by wearing the Where’s William? Campaign colours (red and blue) to show Australia that this community has not forgotten their little boy.”
Where’s William? Ribbons will be available from various shops on the Mid North Coast in support of William’s family’s campaign to help police find their little boy and bring him home.
One of the highlights of the event will be a very special performance by the Kendall Public School Choir singing ‘Bring Him Home’ - the official Where’s William? Campaign theme song selected by William’s family.
There will be a raffle, food, drinks, and free activities for children to enjoy and the family have also arranged for the donation of special lucky door prizes to say a special thank you to the community.
During Where’s William? Week, all Australians are invited to host a ‘Tea 4 William Tyrrell’, download and display posters and flyers and purchase Where’s William? T-shirts, baseball caps and ribbons from www.whereswilliam.org.
People can also participate in a ‘Walk 4 William’ event that is registered with the official Where’s William? Campaign to promote awareness of William and at the same time promote child safety in their own communities. Only officially registered ‘Walk 4 William’ events are endorsed by William’s family and the Where’s William? Campaign.
The Where’s William? Campaign is funded solely by donations and pro-bono support thanks to the generosity of individuals and organisations wanting to help William’s family in their quest to find their little boy and bring him home.
People can register their participation in ‘Where’s William? Week’, host a ‘Tea 4 William Tyrrell’, a ‘Walk 4 William’ event or make a donation by visiting whereswilliam.org or ‘Where’s William Tyrrell? Bring Him Home - Official’ Facebook page.
