The Sharks laid the platform in the first half, leading 22-0 at the break, to continue their strong start to season 2016.
The Sharks took their foot off the pedal in the second half. Cudmore said things "didn't click".
"That was to be expected, we haven't been playing together very long," he said.
Cudmore led the way for the Sharks, with two tries.
The Blues put their only points on the board shortly after the break, before the Sharks muscled up in defence.
Matt Shipway and Dave Geary put a couple of huge hits on as the Blues tried to get the ball upfield.
Cudmore said Geary's was particularly big.
"It was massive," he said.
The strong win wasn't a reason for Cudmore to get carried away. He realises it's early days in the season.
There is still plenty for the team to work on.
"As long as we keep improving, and not going backwards," Cudmore said.
Cudmore paid tribute to the Blues' resilience and toughness in the match.
"They are a tough unit," he said.
"I'd say they'll be sore today too. They'll keep going forward."
