A community-led campaign to replace chemotherapy treatment chairs at the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute in Port Macquarie has delivered an eighth recliner.

The Hastings Cancer Trust, which has helped support local cancer patients since 2005, this week presented the $7000 gift to cancer unit.
The latest arrival means the unit has just one chair to replace and then every patient who receives chemotherapy treatment will do so in the comfort of a new recliner, which can be adjusted to suit their individual needs.
Nursing Unit Manager Jenny Baroutis thanked the Hastings Cancer Trust for its support. “This is a local charity helping local cancer patients,” she said.
