The purpose of the Camden Haven Business Chamber is to directly support and encourage local businesses and as a not-for-profit organisation and give back to the community as a whole. Therefore, we see that the Christmas in July initiative positively effects both of those areas.

The 2015 event was like “dipping our toe in the water”, working with the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council place-making team, but the organising committee was keen to show that the Camden Haven can offer more great events to its calendar on top of Slice of Haven, King of the Mountain etc.

As the Camden Haven continues to grow and change, it is clear that we need to look for new ways to highlight our stunning area, great community spirit and varied business offerings and we see inviting people to another amazing event as a way to showcase who we are and what we have to offer.

Bringing people to the Camden Haven will breed success for local business in the short-term, attract investment in the medium term, and services and infrastructure in the longer term which will ensure the continued economic success of the region. It’s not about becoming bigger, it’s about making the Camden Haven the best it can be for all who live and work here.

Christmas in July 2016, is a definite step-change from last year and a huge thank you must go to our local organising committee and businesses owners who attended all meetings, with some specific mentions to – Jo Rowan, Julie Krige, Peter Nash, Leanne Heilman, Glenn Knight, Kate Dwyer and the team at the Courier, and Paul Koch and Lucilla Marshall at PMHC.
