A recent SOS in the Camden Haven Courier for funding sparked the charity arm of the Freemasons to act.
“While fellowship, self-improvement and empowerment are of primary importance to the Freemasons, charity is also an important part of our creed,” said Freemason Walter Schellenberg.
“The members of the lodge are happy to lend fiscal support to this treasured local institution and hope to continue their financial assistance into the future.”
Julie Daniell, neighbourhood centre coordinator, said the $500 from the Freemasons will go towards their insurance costs.
“What this funding means is that we can cover our insurance commitments for the next 12 months,” Julie said.
“It’s the difference between keeping our doors open or not. We are very grateful for this significant donation.”
