Share the Dignity is a non profit organisation that asks for donations of sanitary items.

These are distributed locally to homeless women, women fleeing domestic violence, those in poverty.

For some women it is often a choice of buying food or sanitary items.

Once again Coles in Laurieton and Woolworths in Lakewood have graciously accepted being collection points.

Please know that if you decide to place items in the collection boxes, you are not just making a donation, you are making a difference.

In a letter dated April 17, I wrote to Federal MP Dr. David Gillespie's Office regarding two matters – 1. The possible cancellation of bulk billing for pathology matters and 2. The disgusting and deplorable condition of Ocean Drive in the vicinity of Lakewood.

Having received no reply, I again wrote to Dr. Gillespie's Office on May 11. Again, no reply.

I wrote again on July 9 and lo and behold I received a satisfactory reply re the bulk billing of pathology matters i.e. situation is to remain unchanged except with the fact of large companies not to receive incentive bonuses. That  letter was dated July 21, 2016.

Matter No 2 has still not been replied to. So, I have again written to Dr. Gillespie's office on August 27.

Here we go again, not really satisfactory is it? Like pulling teeth.

I'm sure no government bodies want to know about Ocean Drive.

Are the repairs going to be like delaying the new Stingray Creek bridge?  

Up go the expenses again.

I feel pressure has got to be applied by many people writing to Local and Federal Government bodies re such.

I attended the Lake Cathie meet the candidates meeting for the upcoming Port Macquarie-Hastings Council election.

I commend all candidates on their representations which were most informative. I do not personally approve of voting in blocks for candidates.

Do yourself a favor, if you approve of all candidates in a block party vote individually for them all below the line not in the block form.

Give your local council more power as individuals making crucial decisions for you for the duration of the four year term.

Don’t give them all a voice unless elected individually.
