The exhibition will take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm at the Uniting Church Hall in Bold Street, Laurieton (located next to ANZ Bank).
This is a great opportunity for the craft group to showcase its work and encourage others to join them each Tuesday for a day of craft, fun and friendship.
President of the Laurieton Haven Craft Exhibition Doreen Bate said the theme for the show will be ‘Romancing our Country’.
“It will be a celebration of Australia and inspired by the love we have for this wonderful ‘land down under’ which we are so fortunate to be able to call home,” Doreen said.
Embroidery, quilting, paper tole, card making, lacy crocheting, mosaicking and other crafts will be on show.
Special features include ‘A Black Table Napkin Challenge’, Teddy Bears’ picnic as well as ‘Aussie Icons Stage Display’, all of which should delight and inspire visitors.
Devonshire teas will be available in a quiet setting on the back verandah and a variety of craft items will be on sale.
Members have also worked hard to fill baskets brimming with many handmade articles, a beautiful quilt and lots more for the Raffle.
Admission is still only $3 with children up to 12 years of age most welcome and free of charge.
The recipient charity for the exhibition is Heart Support Australia Port Macquarie Branch which provides funding for improved cardiac services in the Hastings and support to cardiac patients, their families and carers.
Port Macquarie Heart Support group are predominately volunteers who generously give their time and experience for this much needed community service and it is a privilege and pleasure to help by supporting them in this way.
The exhibition will be officially opened at 11am on Friday September 30 and will be attended by special guests including representatives of the Heart Support organisation and everyone is most welcome.
The group meets each Tuesday enjoying each other’s company in a friendly and caring atmosphere, while sharing and learning new skills and crafts.
