Club members hoisted the iconic red and yellow flags at the popular beach on Saturday morning.
Volunteer club patrols on Rainbow Beach will continue on weekends and public holiday until Tuesday April 25, 2017. During the week days, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council contracted life guards will patrol Rainbow Beach.
During the 2015/16 season the club’s volunteer surf life savers performed 4099.5 hours of patrol on Rainbow Beach. During that period there were seven rescues and 389 preventative actions including one shark alarm. This was performed by 120 volunteer Surf Life Savers from Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club.
The club’s Open Day is on Sunday October 16 and the club’s executive and members are inviting everyone to come down and check out the clubhouse and find our information on club activities including nippers.
There will be demonstration of equipment and a free barbeque.
