Why on earth does he think we should have to seek his ‘gracious’ approval before we can be granted equality under Australian law? Maybe we should hold a plebiscite on whether he should be allowed to marry!
He failed to explain how changing the law to treat all Australians equally is somehow a ‘critical sociological change’.
I can assure him that if politicians just do their jobs in parliament and allow us to marry then this change will have zero impact on his life. We elect politicians to make these decisions on our behalf; that is how a modern secular society operates. And that should also apply to the issue of euthanasia.
