No luck again with the toss however Camden Haven began well in the field with wickets falling regularly, apart from one partnership.

Comboyne were bowled out for 108.

Ben Coles got 4, Tim Taylor 3, Young Izach Dennis 2, and Craig Cummins 1 along with 2 classic catches.

Thanks to the junior Camden Haven cricketers who kept us fully-staffed in the field.

The run chase began extremely well, captain Harris and Cummins displayed some fine shots taking Camden Haven to 79.

Harris fell to a fine catch.

Then, when Cummins was caught, there was a mini collapse.

That was until Mark Burgess and Izach Dennis brought home the chocolates at the end of the 15th over.

Keep up the good work lads the side is showing improvement each week. 

Saturday was the team’s second win.

Next week we travel to Wood St 2 against another Pirates side. 

Fourteen-year-old Camden Haven junior Zach Xerri achieved his highest score of 75 in 4th grade senior competition which almost set up victory.

Playing against Port at Wauchope, the opposition batted first and scored a respectable 169 off their allocated 40 overs.

Zach opened the innings and was in great touch from the start with some fine shots played.

Unfortunately the other batters couldn’t match Zach’s effort and fell 29 runs short.

Congratulations Zach on a fine innings with Dad too nervous to sit and stood on the boundary line to watch his son’s effort.

In a battle for top position Camden Haven U16’s juniors played out a great game of cricket with Port Macquarie.

In a two-day match Camden Haven elected to bat first and posted a score of 171 with major contributions from Daniel Adelt (58) and Ethan Alchin (33) and one massive 6 from Jack Chapman.

Port then had to face a nervous two overs before stumps on day one and lost one wicket in the process.

The following Saturday the boys were ready for action and bowled and fielded well to win by 35 runs.
