A man and a juvenile female have been charged over the wounding of two police officers during a domestic incident on the mid north coast.

About 7am on Saturday December 3, a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl became involved in a domestic altercation at their home on Hollingsworth Street in Port Macquarie.
Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended and separated the pair in the backyard of the home.
They became aggressive towards police, with the girl allegedly arming herself with a cast-iron decorative garden wheel and hitting a female senior constable with the object.
The other officer, a male senior constable, assisted and was allegedly bitten on the forearm by the 17-year-old girl.
The officers were able to gain control of the pair and they were arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
The 17-year-old girl was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, wound police officer executing duty, assault police occasioning actual bodily harm, resist arrest, and malicious damage.
The 21-year-old man was charged with hindering police and resisting arrest.
Their bail and court dates are yet to be determined.
As a result of the incident both officers were treated at Port Macquarie Hospital. The female officer needed stitches to a laceration on her forearm, while the male officer was treated for a puncture wound to his arm.
