Just weeks after being sacked by 97.3FM, radio personality Robin Bailey has announced she will join rival station Triple M in 2017.
"When Triple M offered me a role, I jumped at the chance," she said.
Bailey will join Greg Martin and Ed Kavalee on their weekday breakfast show, which will be called Marto, Ed & Robin.
Bailey, who said she's been a "sneaky listener" of Triple M for some time, said the job offer was "a dream come true".
"It means I will be able to continue to do what I love most, broadcasting to the people of Brisbane," she said.
"I'm really looking forward to this great new challenge."
Bailey was dumped by the Australian Radio Network in mid November after 10 years with 97.3FM. National content director Duncan Campbell said the station and Bailey were unable to agree to new contract terms after long negotiations.
At the time, Bailey said she was "blindsided" by the company's decision not to renew her contract.
Southern Cross Austereo's Brisbane General Manager, Damon Rielly said Triple M was keen to get her on board as soon as they heard she was leaving 97.3FM.
"After hearing about Robin's sudden departure from her previous breakfast commitments, we jumped at the opportunity to have her join Triple M's breakfast show in 2017," he said.
Southern Cross Austereo will be banking on Bailey's star power to improve Triple M's ratings in 2017.
While the final radio ratings survey drops next week, in the previous survey Triple M's breakfast show declined again, well behind Nova's hit Ash, Kip and Luttsy show and Bailey's former breakfast show at 93.7FM.
