“Some people might wonder who is referred to in our assembly theme, Increase Your Faith in Jehovah,” said assembly representative Peter Hyde.
“The King James version of the Bible in Psalms 83:18 says, ‘JEHOVAH art the most high over all the earth.’ The goal then is to ‘increase’ our faith in the God, of the Bible.
“The day’s program, which begins at 9:30am and concludes at 4:20pm, will help us see why we can believe that God exists or is real. Then it will help us see why we can be fully convinced he will generously care for us and eventually reward us, that takes true faith.”
The speakers will answer the following questions: Why is it necessary in all circumstances to have faith? How can we increase our faith? What gives us confidence that those with genuine faith will be rewarded?
The main talk will be the public Bible discourse: “True Faith — What Is It, and How Is It Shown?” This will be held at 1:30pm and all, including those of other faiths, are warmly welcome. Attendance and parking is free and no collections are taken.
The assembly program will also be held at the Camden Haven High School hall on Sunday January 29 for those from Taree to Foster, and is the same program being held throughout the world in over 400 languages.
“In Port Macquarie, Wauchope and the Camden Haven, there are around 380 active members, those who call on people door to door each month to share the good news of what Christ will do for mankind under his Kingdom,” Hyde said.
“However those who regularly attend our meetings are often close to twice that number. Also attending the assembly in the Camden Haven high school hall are the two congregations from Kempsey, their numbers are a little over 200, and again a lot more attend.
“We usually get somewhere close to 550 in attendance, as many who are elderly or infirm chose to watch the program on DVD later, and those who work on the Saturday will attend the Sunday program.”
