Vaughan won both the under-15 and under-17 flag and sprint events along with a strong performance in the one-kilometre run.
There was a bit of carnage especially in the ski events.

She overcame scorching conditions on the sand during the run where some competitors went via team tents to grab some momentary relief from the sun.
In the under-19 open division, Toni Hurkett won the board, swim, sprint and flags, while Gail Martin performed strongly in the sand events.
Isaac Plunkett performed well across a variety of different disciplines including the swim and board race along with the Ironperson event.
Port Macquarie Surf Club spokesperson Cameron McKee said conditions at times were challenging – both on the sand and in the water.
“Generally speaking conditions were trying and there was a bit of carnage especially in the ski events,” he said.
“But overall it was a good day and we only had the one minor injury.”
McKee said it would be a close finish between the “three stronger clubs in the branch.”
“There won’t be much in the end between Port Macquarie, Tacking Point and Wauchope-Bonny Hills,” he said.
