A group of volunteers will be working on that day to clean up the area around the Henry Kendall Reserve and in particular, the plastics and rubbish that accumulate along the water's edge.
Plastic is a particular problem in the aquatic environment where it breaks down into tiny particles which are then ingested by fish, birds and other aquatic animals to their detriment and ultimately ours, when they enter the food chain.
Some of the volunteers will also be cleaning up the edges of Ocean Drive from the Henry Kendall Reserve towards Laurieton and Lakewood and in Kendall from the bridge and back towards Kew.
If you would like to join the volunteers on Sunday please give Joy Rodwell (0429 330 593) to join her at Henry Kendall Reserve or Doug Pope (6559 0159) to join him at Kendall.
You will need a yellow or high viz shirt, gloves, gumboots or sturdy shoes and bring water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen and a hat.
