Raymond Croxford, 61, was last seen at a home in Preston last March.
He was reported missing, with concerns about the length of time since his last sighting.
Officers released an image of the 61-year-old last month in a bid to find him.
Mr Croxford has been found in Wangaratta – nearly 250 kilometres from where he was last seen – and thanked people for their assistance.
