One of the documents we have been reviewing is the draft delivery program - a list of major projects planned for the next year.
This is one of a number of documents that comprise the “Integrated Planning and Reporting Suite of Documents” and are now on public exhibition until the 20th May.
The following projects in the Camden Haven are proposed for next year:
- To improve the security of our water supplies in the Camden Haven, to start construction of the Southern Trunk Main from Bonny Hills towards Cowarra Dam. $2m.
- Recreational Boating improvements. $500k.
- Stormwater detention around Black Swan Terrace in West Haven. $300k.
- Upgrade Sewerage in Area 15. $2.37m.
- Necessary repairs to the Dunbogan bridge. $2.5m.
- Playground upgrades in Laura Place Reserve $82.4k and Laurieton Oval $82.4k.
We would appreciate any comments you may have on these projects or any aspects of the Integrated Planning and Reporting documents. Please visit the council website to comment or send a letter to council.
Like many in our community, I was horrified to see the destruction caused by land clearing on a property in Beach Street, Bonny Hills.
This area has been identified as the home to many native species and is part of an important Koala corridor. Council unanimously decided to start the process to change the zoning of a large portion of this block to environmental protection.
It is great to finally see the roadworks start on Ocean Drive in Lakewood. These works should take about five weeks to complete.
Over the coming months, the Camden Haven will be the first to get new signs as you enter each town and village. Keep an eye out for them.
