According to Richard Misso, interior design expert and creative director at The Stylesmiths, window furnishings are a focal point.

He explained the right window furnishings should complement the interior’s style and era.

“Look at the entire colour and texture pallet of your room before deciding on colours and materials,” Mr Misso said.

But he also said people should consider practical aspects.

“Take into consideration, if you want to let in light, block out harsh sunlight, reduce your heating and cooling bills. These factors are all critical,” Mr Misso said.

The Stylesmiths creative director also shared his tips on what’s trending.

Metallic surfaces are back in vogue, bronze and gold metallic fabrics layered with sheers are making a grand appearance in living rooms and bedrooms. “Also charcoal and slate are the new neutrals and blend beautifully with the metallic trends. Darker neutral fabrics frame a window elegantly and adds a more sophisticated look to your room,” Mr Misso said.
