Last Monday afternoon (May 8), I was stopped in traffic outside Woolworths at Lakewood.
Roadworks were progressing well, and the controllers were doing a great job.
Whilst waiting my turn, an elderly lady using her "wheelie-walker" came out of the carpark of Woolies, she was quite visibly distressed with the traffic situation.
To my absolute delight, the traffic controller held up his Stop sign to the approaching line of traffic.
He then walked over to the lady with the "Wheelie-walker", and after a quick conversation, escorted her across Sirius Drive, then up to Ocean Drive, helped her negotiate the kerb, and set her safely on her way along Ocean Drive towards Laurieton.
He returned to his duties as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
The respect and kindness shown by this traffic controller was amazing to say the least. He scored 10/10 in my book.
